Domestic violence charges in Texas have major consequences to the person who is accused. Most family violence cases start with an argument over something minor. When the people involved calm down, they realize that it was a misunderstanding blown out of proportion.

But it does not stop there. The legal process at this point is just getting started and is usually a lengthy process through court. The alleged victim can try to get the prosecution to drop the case, but in many instances the State refuses to.
